30 Minutes Exercise Per Day
If you averaged out how much exercise a naturally slim person gets per day, it would be 30 minutes per day. That’s all! Most naturally slim people DO NOT exercise in a gym every day of the week for a couple of hours each day.You could achieve that by parking the car a bit further away from the shop, or from your workplace. Or by taking a walk during lunchtime instead of sitting in a restaurant or coffee shop. Or may you could schedule a 30 minute walk each evening at 7 or 8pm.
REMEMBER – IT’S NOT WHAT YOU DO A COUPLE OF DAYS A WEEK THAT COUNTS – IT’S WHAT YOU DO EVERY DAY
If you exercise three days a week, that means you are exercising for 156 days per year. It also means you are not exercising for 208 days per year. That’s a lot of down-time for your body. So instead of pushing your body unrealistically three days a week, why not exercise enjoyably and briskly for 30 minutes each day doing things you can easily fit into your everyday life.
This will help you to burn fat every day, not just three days of the week, and result in you adjusting your lifestyle in a way that you can maintain it long-term.
The BIG Exercise Mistake!
Ask any gym owner and they’ll tell you that their gym is packed during the first two weeks of January or the first two weeks of September. And this is evidence of the BIG mistake people make regarding exercise – they think they have to push themselves really hard in order to lose weight. These are the very people that give up after two or three weeks. Why? Because it’s too hard. Of course it’s too hard. I wouldn’t want to do that myself and I don’t recommend that any of my HYPNOBAND clients do that either.
Exercise For Life
The key to exercising for life is to only do what you are willing to commit to for the rest of your life! What I mean by this is – if you’re going to start walking on a Sunday for 30 minutes, commit to doing it every Sunday for the rest of your life. Exercise needs to continue to be enjoyable at all times in order for you to continue doing it. In other words, the “no pain- no gain” philosophy is just rubbish. I’m sure you’ve probably seen participants on TV programmes about weight loss attempting extreme exercise regimes and ending up crying and in pain. Exercise does not have to be like this!
Are there times when you know you should be exercising but you’d just prefer to sit on the sofa? Maybe you make excuses to yourself such as – “it’s too cold”, or “the neighbours are outside and they’ll see me”, or “I think it might rain”, or “I’ll do it tommorrow”.
